Our story began in the winter of 2006 at the Penn Valley dog park. At the time, both dogs were highly energetic and the park was their only outlet. The first few times Jamie and Sabrina met, they just “happened” to be there at the same time. (Well, in Sabrina’s case, it was a timed event in hopes of meeting the cute boy again.) Sometimes, Sabrina’s friend Julia would join her at the dog park so her dog Buddy could get some exercise. The three of them would hang out in freezing winter temperatures just so they could have peace and quiet for a bit when they (and more importantly, their dogs) returned home.
After a couple of times getting together, Jamie and Sabrina finally went out on a date. At the time, Jamie worked nights so their first date was a delightful lunch at Kona Grill. Afterwards, Sabrina treated Jamie to his first taste of Foo’s Fabulous Custard. (He may have fallen in love with her at that point, but that is yet to be determined.) Many more dates were to follow, including “Green Eggs & Ham” for St. Patrick’s Day, movie night where Diesel ate Sabrina’s shoe, dinner and drinks at the Copa Room and a trip to Fin’s dive bar. As they discovered more about each other and their relationship grew, it was hard to keep them apart. Well, between Sabrina working crazy hours and travelling for work 90% of the time and Jamie starting school they did what they could. If nothing else, there was always vacation trips around the country as well as Mexico and Canada. Three years later, on a fine summer evening in May, Jamie and Sabrina got engaged. It had started off as a nice date night and ended with an amazing engagement party. As we look to the next year, Jamie and Sabrina have set aside the weekend for September 17/18, 2010 for their Big Day. |
